Welcome to the one of the prestigious Departments of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) under the School of Science and Engineering of Southeast University (SEU), Tejgaon, Dhaka, Bangladesh. In this brief message, I wish to introduce the Department of EEE and its dedicated and scholar faculty members, students, officers, laboratory assistants and technical and other staff in carrying out our various activities in achieving our program educational objectives and goals of the department. As the Chairperson of the EEE Department, I am extremely fortunate to work with such a wonderful group of individuals who have common goals and commitments to improve teaching and research activities, to cut through the frontiers of Electrical and Electronic Engineering fields to benefit the nation, the society and the mankind at large.
The Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering was established in the year 2009, and started its journey from Spring 2010 Semester and shifted to the permanent campus at Tejgaon in 30 July 2013. We have full ranges of activities within the spectrum of electrical and electronic engineering. We are extremely proud to announce that the EEE Department is one of the first choices among the hundreds of aspiring students to be admitted in various semesters at SEU. At present, we have over 700 undergraduate students. Very soon, we are going to launch the graduate programs, and like the undergraduate program, we hope that we will be able to attract a good number of graduate students too.
We are proud to offer internationally recognized course curriculum and teaching and cutting edge and applied research with the students at the core of our all activities. The syllabus of the EEE Department focuses four major areas, such as, power and energy, electronics, telecommunications and computer. Our curricula are regularly updated to accommodate the latest developments and breakthroughs in various fields of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, and make our graduates able to accept the emerging challenges in their fields of interests.
The breadth and depth of the research interests of our faculty members ensure an exceptional standard of teaching and provides excellent opportunities for challenging and stimulating project initiatives across all disciplines in the Department, such as, micro and nano electronics, electrical power and energy, power and industrial electronics, digital signal processing, communication engineering, biomedical electronics, nuclear engineering, engineering design, especially, system based drawing and design in our research portfolio. We would like to address some of the national challenges that we all face now a day. Already faculty members have published a good number of national and international journal papers and presented conference papers and participated in the seminar/ workshops at home and abroad.
We are trying to produce professionally qualified EEE graduates to meet up the challenges of the 21st century and to fulfill both national and international demand of EEE graduates by providing the world class education at an affordable cost. We are proud of our students that they are achieving recognition in national and international competitions and job markets in the country and at abroad as well.
The EEE Department also encourages various extra- and co-curricular activities and organizes study tours, industrial visits, seminars, workshops, short courses on advanced topics that have practical importance etc. on regular basis.
We are hopeful that we will emerge as one of the leading Departments at SEU and also in the country very soon.
