The Department of Law, Southeast University (SEU) which represented Bangladesh in the 9th Henry Dunant Memorial Regional Moot Court Competition-2013 has won the Best Memorial Award in the competition while the Indian mooting team has clinched the championship. The competition was jointly organized by the Indian Society of International Law and the International Committee of the Red Cross at New Delhi, India from October 19 to 20, 2013participated by six countries of SAARC region. The national champion teams from various South Asian countries took part in the competition.

The Participants from SEU were Kazi Parvez Jibon and Farzana Sultana Zahid Hussain as mooters and Mohammad Shihab Uddin as the researcher. The team was mentored by ABM Imdadul Haque Khan and Tahsin Khan, Lecturers of the Department of Law of SEU. Rabeya Begum and Israt Ferdous, President and Member Secretary respectively of the SEU Moot Court Club also played a pivotal role in the preparation of the SEU mooting team. Mr. Md. Rezaul Karim, the Hon’ble Chairman of Southeast University Trust and Prof. Dr. Anwar Hossain, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of Southeast University congratulated the contestants for their outstanding feat.

It is to be noted that the Department of Law, Southeast University (SEU) qualified to represent Bangladesh at New Delhi by defeating the Faculty of Law, University of Dhaka in the Final round of 9th National Henry Dunant Memorial Moot Court Competition, 2013 held at DU Senate Bhaban from September 5 to 7, 2013 Participated by 13 Public and Private Universities. It is also pertinent to mention that this year’s achievement comes at the back of last year’s commendable performance of winning the runner up trophy as well as the Best Memorial Award in the 8th National Henry Dunant Memorial Moot Court Competition, 2012.
