Seminar on “Meet the HR Professionals” held at SEU

A seminar on “Meet the HR Professionals” was organized by Southeast Business School (SBS) of Southeast University on 1 March 2018 in the Seminar Hall, Banani, Main Campus.
Prof. Dr. ANM Meshquat Uddin, Vice Chancellor, Southeast University (SEU) was present as the Chief Guest in inagural session of the seminar. In his speech, he highlighted the importance of arranging such kind of seminar. He also encouraged the students to gain knowledge from the seminar and apply the same to their future work life. Welcome speech was delivered by Prof. Dr. Md. Abu Taher, Dean, Southeast Business School, SEU while the seminar was coordianted by M. Abdullah Al Mamun, Assistant professor, SBS, SEU. Mr. Md. Musharrof Hossain, president, Bangladesh Society for Human Resources Management (BSHRM) & Head of Human Resources, icddr’b was keynote speaker. Dr. Nargis Akhter, Professor, SBS, SEU and Ms. Kamrun Nahar, Culture and People and Compliance Manager, BIG W HK Procurement Pty Ltd., Banani, Dhaka were panel discussants at the seminar. Speakers of the seminar mainly focused on how to prepare for future career in the field of HR and compete with the job market. More than 150 students of BBA & MBA major in HRM, faculty members, officials of SEU were present at the seminar.

Closing of HR Week-2015 and Prize Giving Ceremony held at Southeast University

Closing of HR Week-2015 and Prize Giving Ceremony of Inter University HR Competition organized by the Southeast Business School of Southeast University (SEU) was held on June 17, 2015 in the capital. Vice Chancellor of SEU Professor Anwar Hossain was present at the ceremony as Chief Guest, while Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Humayun Kabir Chowdhury was present as Special Guest. Dean of Future Business School at West Bengal University of Technology, India Prof. Dr. Manodip Ray Chaudhuri was present as Guest of Honor. The program was chaired by the Dean of Southeast Business School at SEU Prof. Dr. Golam Ahmed Faruqui. Convener of HR Week-2015 and Assistant Professor of SBS M. Abdullah Al Mamun delivered welcome address at the closing session. Among others, Registrar Maj Gen Kazi Fakhruddin Ahmed, psc (Retd), Director of Institute of Research and Training (IRT) Professor Dr. A.F.M. Mafizul Islam, Director of BBA Program Dr. Laila Arjuman Ara, Deans of different schools, Chairs of different departments, Faculty Members and students from different universities were present at the program.
IBA-Dhaka University team became Champion in the Inter University HR Competition-2015, while Southeast University team became 1st Runners-up and IBA-Jahangirnagar University became 2nd Runners-up. In this competition, 32 teams participated from different public and private universities.

SEU Team becomes First Runners-up in Inter University Social Business Plan Competition

A team of four students from Southeast University (SEU) Southeast Business School achieved the First Runners-up position in the Inter University Social Business Plan Competition under ‘Social Business Academic Conclave’, organized by Eastern University in collaboration with Yunus Center. The participants are – Kanak Chandra Saha (29th Batch), Asif Akbar (29th Batch), Tanvir Ahmed (28th Batch) and Syeda Zubayra Zabeen (27th Batch). The team was mentored and supervised by Mr. Fahim Shaker, Senior Lecturer of Southeast University at Southeast Business School. The theme of the project was ‘Organic Farming’, where the main concept was based on health awareness, societal development and poverty alleviation through cultivation of fresh natural vegetables in organic process. The competition was held at Eastern University on May 30, 2015, where various teams from different leading universities participated. Nobel Laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus handed over the trophy to SEU Team on June 1, 2015 at the main event. Director of the BBA program, Dr. Laila Arjuman Ara, Assistant Professor Abdullah Al Mamun and Senior Lecturer Fahim Shaker were also present on this occasion.

IRT organized Research Adda


Institute of Research & Training of Southeast University (SEU) organized a program for its Faculty Members titled “Research Adda”, held on April 23, 2015 at the Seminar Hall at Banani, Dhaka. Vice Chancellor of SEU Prof. Anwar Hossain was present at the program as chief guest, while Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Humayun Kabir Chowdhury was present as special guest. Dean SBS, Prof. Dr. Golam Ahmed Faruqui chaired the program. Participants at the program presented research paper, which was followed by a question-answer session.

Southeast University Debating Club becomes Runner-up at HR Debate Competition


Southeast University Debating Club (SEUDC) becomes the Runner-up at the Inter University HR Debate Competition-2015, while Syeda Zubayra Zabeen of the team is announced as the Best Debater for her flawless performance. Southeast University family congratulates SEUDC and debaters for their performance and achievement. The SEU Debate Team is led by the Moderator of SEU Debating Club and Asst. Professor of Southeast Business School M. Abdullah Al Mamun, while other team members are Md. Tanvir Neaz Shakil, Shaila Sharmin, Habibur Rahman and Lamia Sarwat.
Organized by Bangladesh Society for Human Resources Management (BSHRM), the final round debate was held on February 28, 2015 at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC) in the capital. BSHRM organized this debate competition as part of their 4thInternational HR Conference-2015.
